Chilli Pepper Plant - Carolina Reaper

Grow the World’s Hottest Chilli Pepper from your very own home!

The ‘Carolina Reaper’ is was rightly voted the Worlds’ Hottest Chill by the Guinness Book of Records! Bred in South Carolina by crossing a Ghost chilli with a Habanero, this chilli pepper weighs in at an incredible 2.2 million Scoville. This devilish chilli pepper plant should be handled with extra care and is not for the faint-hearted!

Each devilishly hot chilli pepper has a fruity, cinnamon/chocolate taste before the mind-blowing heat kicks in. The bumpy, lumpy ‘Carolina Reaper’ won't all look the same as they grow, but the majority will have a pointed scorpion tail that is typical of this 'super-hot' chilli. Treat this plant with respect, pick your chillies once they turn red, and always wear gloves when handling fruit. Never touch your eyes without washing your hands… You have been warned!

Grow the of the World’s Hottest Chilli from your very own patio or greenhouse, a must-have for any chilli enthusiast.

Caring for your Carolina Reaper

Your chilli plant will perform best in a greenhouse but will produce a good crop in a sunny sheltered location outdoors. It is important that you give it time to adjust to its new environment. Check the compost is moist and if required leave the plant to soak in approximately 5mm water for 5-10 minutes or until the top of the compost is damp. Stand the plant in a warm, light, airy place such as a windowsill or conservatory and allow to grow, ensuring that the compost is kept moist.

Growing Information

Chilli peppers may be grown undercover in a greenhouse or polytunnel, or grown outdoors in a sheltered position in full sun. Pot up young plants and grow them on in warm frost free conditions. When plants are well grown transplant them into grow bags and containers, or plant them in well prepared beds of fertile, well drained soil. When growing chilli peppers outdoors, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days prior to transplanting them. Space pepper plants at a distance of 50cm (20") apart.

Live Plants

Suttons strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3.

Non Standard Deliveries

Unfortunately like many companies in our industry we are currently only able to supply orders to UK based customers, excluding those in Northern Ireland. We are committed to finding a way that we can resume or normal services again as soon as possible. Please accept our apologies for any inconvience caused.

Prices include VAT where applicable.

We reserve the right to contact you and advise an additional charge where necessary and are happy to quote for carriage of specific products to more remote areas. Some items may not be available to all areas.

We reserve the right to revise any carriage charges in the event of carrier price increase or other unforeseen circumstances. We will always advise of the carriage charge before payment is taken.

All Suttons products should reach you in perfect condition, just as they left us. If you are dissatisfied in any way with their condition on arrival, please let us know within 14 days.
