Bumper Allium Collection

The Bumper Allium Collection includes the following five varieties: Allium Purple Sensation (5 Bulbs) – With bold violet-purple blooms, these striking alliums make a dramatic statement in summer borders. Their upright stems hold large, starry flower globes up to 8cm (3") across. Height: 90cm (36") | Spread: 10cm (4") Allium ampeloprasum (15 Bulbs) – These tall alliums feature globe-shaped flower heads of pale mauve, almost white, on strong stems. Ideal for vertical accents in cottage gardens, they also work beautifully in cut flower gardens or naturalizing in meadows. The blooms can be dried for lasting floral displays. Height: 100cm (39") | Spread: 20cm (8") Allium cowanii (15 Bulbs) – This charming allium boasts clusters of pure white, star-shaped flowers that are perfect for cutting. It’s a great choice for drifts at the front of borders or mixed containers and attracts bees, butterflies, and other pollinators with its nectar-rich flowers. Growing Information

Alliums thrive in free-draining soils in full sun. If growing in clay soils, add grit when planting to improve drainage. Avoid planting in cold wet soils as the bulbs are prone to rot in these conditions. Plant allium bulbs at a depth of 10cm (4”) and a distance of 10cm (4”) apart. A slow release fertilizer can be added to poor soils at the time of planting to improve fertility. When growing alliums, plant them where the leaves of other plants will cover the base of their stems. This will hide the old foliage which dies back before flowering begins.
