You won’t taste better tomatoes than the ones that you harvest from your own garden! This collection combines three varieties that will keep you supplied with tomatoes all summer long. These varieties are perfect for containers or planters in the greenhouse or on the patio, but can also be planted in a sunny spot in the garden Height: 200cm (79"). Spread: 50cm (20").
Tomato Growers Trio comprises of:
- Tomato ‘Rubylicious’ (3 plants) the perfect blend of modern disease resistance and good, old fashioned flavour! It boasts superb blight resistance, so your plants won’t be struck down in their prime. What makes this variety so special is its incredible sweetness and rich, tangy flavour.
- Tomato ‘Sweet Million ’ (3 plants) - a fantastic cherry tomato variety with heavy crops. Ideal for growing in greenhouses, however this versatile variety can also be grown in a sunny spot on the patio. For smaller gardens these can be grown in grow bags.
- Tomato ‘Alicante’ (4 plants) produces an excellent crop of medium sized fleshy fruits full of delicious flavour. It is quite versatile as it will thrive in grow bags, soil, outdoors or under glass. If space is limited or you have only a balcony this is not an issue as they grow well in containers.
Growing Information
Pot up, and grow tomato plants on in warm frost free conditions until large enough to plant outdoors. When all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days.
Choose a sheltered position in full sun on fertile, reliably moist, well drained soil, and transplant at a distance of 60cm (24") apart. Alternatively grow tomatoes in patio bags and containers in good quality compost such as John Innes No. 2. Drive a (5') cane into the soil adjacent to each plant to support them as they grow, and tie each main stem to its support with soft garden twine.
