Grow delicious fruits no matter the size of your garden with the exceptional Pear ‘Wonder Tree Conference’! The Wonder Tree fruit range comprises the very best fruit tree varieties, chosen for their performance, hardiness, flavour and disease resistance. Pear ‘Wonder Tree Conference’ is an award-winning variety which is partially self-fertile but will produce even larger crops with a pollination partner. The long, bell-shaped fruits have a firm, juicy flesh and will be ready to harvest from October to November and will store until January. Enjoy eaten freshly picked as well as cooked. This low maintenance variety requires almost no pruning - for the tree to keep its shape, simply pinch the tips of the newly grown shoots several times with your thumb and forefinger, in spring. Pear ‘Wonder Tree Conference’ will produce fruits from a young age and will remain compact upon maturity, meaning it can even be grown in a large container. It also makes a very attractive ornamental tree when decorated with white blossom in spring. Height: 2.5m (98in) Spread: 1m (39in). Pollination group: C. Partially self-fertile. Will produce even bigger crops with a pollination partner. Harvest: Oct/Nov Estimated time to cropping once planted: 2 years. Estimated time to best yields: 4 years.

Growing Information

Plant pear trees in any well drained soil in a sheltered sunny position. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the planting hole and drive the stake into the ground to support the tree. Staking after planting may result in damage to the root ball. Plant fruit trees at their original soil level and firm them into the ground. Fasten the tree to the stake using a tree tie, and water well. Pears will produce the best crops when planted near to another pear tree to increase pollination.

While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3.

Unfortunately like many companies in our industry we are currently only able to supply orders to UK based customers, excluding those in Northern Ireland. We are committed to finding a way that we can resume or normal services again as soon as possible. Please accept our apologies for any inconvience caused.

We reserve the right to contact you and advise an additional charge where necessary and are happy to quote for carriage of specific products to more remote areas. Some items may not be available to all areas.

All Suttons products should reach you in perfect condition, just as they left us. If you are dissatisfied in any way with their condition on arrival, please let us know within 14 days. We are only liable for the cost of the goods as quoted on the website plus the cost of delivery if the goods are faulty.
